Importing and Exporting Test Procedures and Test Sets

This page provides detailed instructions for importing and exporting Test Procedures and Test Sets using CSV or Excel files.


Importing Test Procedures

Navigate to Import

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Tests > Test Procedures.
  2. Click the Import button on the Procedures page.

Prepare the Import File

  • Supported formats: CSV or Excel (.xlsx)
  • Required columns:
    • Name – Unique name of the procedure (required)
    • Description – Optional description
    • Belt Surface – Required belt surface
    • Max Load Percent – Optional maximum load percentage
    • Advanced requirement columns (e.g., Decoupled Hub, Thermal Camera, Arduino Code Update, etc.) must match the column names exactly and use Yes/No values as in the export file.

Tip: Use the export feature first to download a template with correct column headers and formatting.

Upload and Validate

  1. Select your prepared file.

  2. The system validates the file:

    • Checks for required columns
    • Ensures procedure names are unique
    • Confirms proper data types (numeric values for Max Load Percent, Yes/No for advanced requirement columns)
    • Verifies that any referenced procedures or options exist in the system
  3. Correct any errors before retrying the import.

Complete the Import

  • Once validated, click Import to add procedures to the system.
  • Imported procedures appear in the Procedure List and are immediately available for use in test sets and test requests.

Exporting Test Procedures

Navigate to Export

  1. From Tests > Test Procedures, click Export.

Configure Export Options

  • Format: Choose CSV or Excel

Complete the Export

  • Click Export.
  • The system generates a file for download containing all test procedures.

Importing Test Sets

Navigate to Import

  1. From the Dashboard > Tests > Test Sets, click Import.

Prepare the Import File

  • Supported formats: CSV or Excel (.xlsx)
  • Required columns:
    • Name – Unique name for the test set (required)
    • Description – Optional description
    • Test Procedures – List of procedure names included in the set, separated by commas
  • Optional columns for folder structure or database path:
    • SR and FZ Tune Updated – true/false
    • GM Folder Structure – true/false
    • Milan Folder Structure – true/false
    • BY Construction Folder Structure – true/false
    • Test Def DB Path – Optional path to the test definition database

Tip: Export an existing test set to see the correct column names and formatting.

Upload and Validate

  1. Select your prepared file.

  2. Validation checks performed by the system:

    • Test set names are unique
    • All procedures listed exist in the system
    • Column headers match expected names
    • Data types are correct (e.g., lowercase true/false for folder structure columns)
  3. Correct any validation errors before proceeding.

Complete the Import

  • Click Import to add the test sets to the system.
  • Imported test sets are immediately available for selection when creating test requests.

Exporting Test Sets

Navigate to Export

  1. From Tests > Test Sets, click Export.

Configure Export Options

  • Format: CSV or Excel

Complete the Export

  • Click Export to download a file containing your test sets.

Common Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Always export first if you’re unsure of the correct column structure.
  • Ensure procedure names match exactly when importing into test sets.
  • Large imports may take a few minutes; do not navigate away during the process.
  • Check for duplicate names ornames, missing required fieldsfields, or extra spaces if import fails.
