Importing and Exporting Test Requests

This page provides detailed instructions for importing and exporting Test Requests using CSV or Excel files.


Importing Test Requests

Navigate to Import

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Tests > Test Requests.
  2. Click the Import button on the Test Requests page.
  3. Upload

Prepare the requiredImport columnsFile

  • Supported formats: CSV or Excel (.xlsx)
  • Required columns:
    • Customer – Required
    • Name – Unique name of the test request (required)
    • Description – Required
    • Status – Test status (e.g., name,Pending, description,In status,Progress, hours_needed,Completed, start_time, etc.).Failed)
    • Hours Needed – Estimated hours to complete the request (required numeric value)
    • Start Time – Scheduled start date/time (required)
    • End Time – Optional end date/time
    • Deadline – Optional deadline

Tip: Export an existing test request to see the correct column headers and formatting.

Upload and Validate

  1. Select your prepared file.

  2. The system validates andthe importsfile:

    • Checks for required columns
    • Ensures test request names are unique
    • Confirms proper data types (numeric for hours, valid date/time formats for Start/End/Deadline)
    • Verifies that any referenced customers or tires exist in the datasystem

  3. Correct any validation errors before retrying the import.

Complete the Import

  • Click Import to add test requests to the system.
  • Imported requests appear in the Test Requests List and are immediately available for use.

Exporting Test Requests

Navigate to Export

  1. From Tests > Test Requests, click Export.

Configure Export Options

  • Format: Choose CSV or Excel

Complete the Export

  • Click Export to download a file containing all test requests.
  • The exported file includes all columns mentioned above, plus system-calculated counts for test requirements and tasks.

Common Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Always export first if unsure of the correct column structure.
  • Ensure names match exactly when importing to avoid duplicates.
  • Large imports may take a few minutes; do not navigate away during the process.
  • Check for missing required fields or invalid data if the import fails.
